My Comforter

When life becomes overwhelming for me and I can't seem to find my smile, I seek Christ.  I fall to my knees and open His word - it is there He meets me and brings me peace.  Our God cares about us. No matter what is happening, he never leaves us. Scripture tells us God knows what is going on in our lives and He is faithful.  I often wonder how people who don't have this hope, this relationship & this faith can cope with heartaches when they come their way.  Below are several scriptures I wanted to share to remind you that He is the great Comforter.  He is here to hug you, rescue you, encourage you, fight for you & save you!

Isaiah 49:13
Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 119:76
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.
Deuteronomy 3:22
Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
Isaiah 12:2
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.
Lamentations 3:25
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;
Micah 7:7
But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
John 14:1
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 16:7
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.   Don't try to make it through this life alone.  Christ is so eager to comfort you.  He loves you and died for you - Our Comforter.

"In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand"
