Today might not be a bad day for you...I pray it isn't. However, we all have them and will continue to. When I hear this song (lyrics at the bottom of my blog), my heart is reminded of the times I felt life was just too much. I hate to admit it but sometimes I'm a spiritual wimp. When the going gets tough, I crumble before my Heavenly Father. We all embark on this journey called life and we all have a story. Sometimes we are in the good chapters of our lives, at a place where everything is going great. Then there are those chapters in our lives when we are just trying to get through the day. The words of this song can ring true in all our lives. When the enemies of this world throw a powerful heartache our way, we cry out to God. Our challenge is trying to get our mind around the why behind the action of His hand. We search yet can't find the good in the things we are facing. He does say He works out ALL things for the good. Well sometimes that is a hard concept when you are on your knees and begging Him to take your trial from you. How can the ugliness and pain of our challenging circumstances all work for good. Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." What is His will through these difficult times? How often do we struggle in seeing the beauty in our heartaches? Isaiah 61:1-3 "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor" .How many times do we feel so emotionally weary it's hard to function through the day? It is at these broken moments in our lives we must turn to our Heavenly Father. We can go to our knees and cry to Him - "please take this from me". He hasn't always taken my hurt away at that moment, but he has given me the strength to get through it. The song reminds us to just keep breathing. When we rely on our heavenly Father, that is all we need to do. He carries us through these times. Even when we are at that place when we can't even utter the words to express our heart's desires to God, the Holy Spirit intercedes in our behalf and speaks to the Father. Romans 8:26-27 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God." We need Him.
Life can spit us out at a place where we didn't really even plan to be. Before we know it, we look around and are caught in the webs of this world and wonder how we ended up where we are. It;s during these times, we must stop and make ourselves seek our own personal relationship with our Father. Remember God is faithful, waiting for you, and loves you. Stop and be still! Seek His quiet whisper. Allow Him to speak into your heart. Search for His healing power through the scriptures. Turn off the TV, computers, cell phone and rise above all the distractions and noise of this world and sit before the Father and just breathe. Remember every step you take, He is with you. He was with you before, He will be with you today and He will be with you tomorrow. Just breathe.

Well, everybody's got a story to tell
And everybody's got a wound to be healed
I want to believe there's beauty here
So, I guess you're tired of holding on
I can't let go, I can't move on
I want to believe there's meaning here
How many times have you heard me cry out
"God please take this"?
How many times have you given me strength to
Just keep breathing?
Oh I need you
God, I need you now.
Standing on a road I didn't plan
Wondering how I got to where I am
I'm trying to hear that still small voice
I'm trying to hear above the noise
Though I walk, though I walk through the shadows
And I, I am so afraid
Please stay, please stay right beside me
With every single step I take
How many times have you heard me cry out?
And how many times have you given me strength?
And everybody's got a wound to be healed
I want to believe there's beauty here
So, I guess you're tired of holding on
