A Kiss from Heaven
In the early mornings, when I step outside I'm reminded of a kiss from Heaven. Deuteronomy 33:28 "His heavens shall drop down dew." Just like the grass, we too are visited by Heaven. When we feel depleted or dry, the heat of this world's scorn or the temptation to turn away from God - let us be reminded there is a sweet touch from God waiting for us. God desires to be the saturating dew in our every day and refresh our souls. How often do you feel a touch from God? I'm reminded in the book of Genesis of the first visits of God seeking man. Genesis 3:8-9 "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?" God is calling out to you today. He is asking that question of us as well. He is anxiously waiting to hear from us, comfort us, guide us and shower His transforming love upon us. God wants to pour the pleasure of His presence into our day to day. Exodus 33:14 "The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." We should never start our days without knowing and concentrating our thoughts deeply on the wonderful promise of the presence of God there with us. The most important thing when it comes to knowing Christ isn't doctrinal, but to seek, recognize and hunger for the touch of Jesus in your heart. Without this saturating dew from my Lord, I'm dry, fading and lacking peace. However, when I feel His presence - this awesome refreshing kiss - I'm reminded of my purpose, my blessings, and my Savior. The Holy Spirit gives me life beyond measure. Praying, reading and writing are nothing if He isn't present? So many of us today read our Bible, pray, sing & go to church -but I have to ask the question, do we sense the presence of God? Do we have a personal history with Jesus Christ? The one true sign of a discipleship is the intimate oneness with Him - a relationship nothing on earth can shake! From the words of one of my favorite songs, "If You touched my face would I know You? Looked into my eyes, could I behold You?"
