Not only was our Lord a great inventor, He was a beautiful artist. We sit in awe of Picasso, but God painted the entire universe with a beautiful sky, raging seas & the earth. "And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. Take time to stop and flash back to all the incredible sunsets/sunrises you have been privileged to witness. Think of His loving and gracious hand painting them.
He also was the greatest gardener - he created vegetation. I immediately am reminded of my sweet mother. She has a special place she goes to get the best corn. My sister calls it liquid gold and threatens to start a business distributing it. There is nothing better than fresh corn from a garden or a sweet summer tomato. "Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good."
"And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” God made all of these. Whether you are a fan of fresh fish, crab legs, chicken, or a juicy burger - it is all because of our Heavenly Father.
Finally, God created me and you. "Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." If you have any understanding of the human body - you have to just stop and stand in awe of His greatness. The human body is the most detailed creation. My husband and I visited the Bodies Museum in Atlanta. The Exhibition provides an intimate and informative view into the human body. Using an innovative preservation process, the exhibition allows you to see and celebrate your body's inner beauty. There is over 200 actual human bodies and specimens meticulously dissected and respectfully displayed. A couple of known facts about the body so you can join me in how great God's handiwork is:
- The Skeletal System-All bones store important mineral salts; in addition, red bone marrow creates 2.5 million new red blood cells each second.
- The Muscular System-The muscular system is the engine that drives the body. By connecting across the joints of the skeleton, muscles create levers that, when they contract, move the bones. Other types of muscles move food through the digestive tract, blood through the blood vessels and keep the heart beating every second of your life.
- The Nervous System-Faster than the world's most powerful computer, the nervous system transmits information through nerve cells at speeds above 270 miles per hour.
- The Respiratory System-The surface area of the lungs is great enough that, if spread out, it would cover half a football field.
- The Circulatory System- The blood vessels of the circulatory system hold the body together. They transport everything the cell needs to maintain life. The circulatory system carries oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, as well as powerful guardian cells that seek out and destroy any virus or bacteria.
