What the hell?

The term hell is used loosely today.  What does hell mean to you?  This might not be your favorite blog of mine, but I was laying in bed one evening and God put it on my heart to write about it.  We all know life has good & bad, happy & sad, fat & skinny - I don't think heaven would be just hanging out there alone without an opposite as well.  The opposite of heaven is hellThe Bible has a lot to say about hell.  Actually it speaks more of hell than heaven.  There is a reason for this.  Most people don't want to face the facts when something might seem too harsh.  In two separate scriptures I find that hell is referred to as  "the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matthew 8:12, Matthew 25:30).  In Mark 9:48 it gets even  worse  "the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched."

Most people don't go around talking about heaven or hell.  It is not common every day conversation.  However, the reality is one day all of our lives will come to an end - this is one thing in life we can count on.  What most people don't think about is what will happen to them after they die.  I think as we get older and watch people we dearly love pass away, we are reminded death is a reality.  Death doesn't have to be feared or a sad thing.  I believe it only should be sad because we will miss the people we love as a result of separation.  There can be joy in death.  That joy is the peace in knowing our loved one or even ourselves are going to a much better place.  Please know when I die - I want everyone to celebrate for me because I will be in a beautiful place where my faith will be made sight - and my eyes will be on Jesus!  This joy can be for everyone if they will just accept the gift of eternal life in heaven

How will you escape being condemned to hell?   God's word tells us in John 3:36 "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them." And the familiar verse "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16   If I remained silent and didn't ever speak to you about hell, I would not genuinely care about you.  God is a righteous God.  He can not allow sin into heaven.  We all are sinners!  Romans 3:23-24  "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."   None is worthy to enter heaven except through Jesus Christ.  God loved us so much he gave his Son for our salvation.  All you have to do is pray and invite Jesus Christ into your life and God will forgive your sins and give you the gift of eternal life in heaven with Him.  Don't ignore there is a hell - secure your place in eternity today.
